Be Grateful

  • We would want to work at a sophisticated company. But Allah s.w.t gives us a mediocre job posting at a halal earning organization.
  • We would want to be fluently able to be speaking and writing in Korean so that we can keep abreast of KPop news anytime anywhere. But Allah s.w.t gives us the ability to speak and pronounce Arabic during Solah even though we don't quite understand the meaning if it.
  • We would want our abode to be looking like Boys Over Flowers's magnificient house. But Allah s.w.t gives us a hdb flat to stay in with guaranteed protection and security in our country.

  • We would want to have 5 children. But Allah s.w.t gives us a daughter only that continuously reminds us of the deen and authentic teachings of Islam whenever we find ourselves swaying away from his remembrance.

Our hearts desire all the gargantuan items and the best of choices. But Allah gives us something not our hearts personally incline initially.

So many 'wants' in our life. And less of a 'thankful' in our real life experiences. We want this and that even though we already have many colours of that particular handbags all in one roof. Blue, Maroon, Magenta. You name it. We have it. Yet, we cringe when the item is out of stock whenever a new model has arrived just last week.

That's human nature. We want to have the popular and up to date technologies to keep on par in this globalizing country. Whenever we obtain our pay, the 1st thing we say; 'I want to upgrade to Iphone 5s!' or ' Dayyum. So gonna use my next pay to buy Michael Kors's tiffany tote bag'

So materialistic of us. So fashionably in-trend of us. So selfish of us to be only improvising our image and neglect those pity souls who don't even know whether they can breathe tomorrow even.

Be grateful. Bersyukur. Alhamdulillah.

Thank you Allah for giving me organs to live healthily. Thank you Allah for giving me communication gadgets so that I can call my Mom whenever I'm going to reach home late. Thank you Allah for giving me modestly plain clothes to protect me from evil eyes of men. Thank you Allah in choosing Singapore for me to live in although we Singaporeans love to complain about how pricey the merchandises are. No bombs, No attacking of missiles, No banning of wearing hijab here.

Alhamdulillah Alaa Kulli Haal.
