The month of Ramadhan has ended and the blissful month of Syawal begins to be the limelight this time round.
Syawal is the month where we Muslims celebrate victory in fasting for 1 month, achievement in controlling our nafs in not saying illicit words and also seek forgiveness to all muslims brothers and sisters.
Yknow when it's the1st day of Syawal, I really like to look back into what I have done during Ramadhan period? I'll ponder upon...
- Have I read quran daily?
- Have I given the zakah to the needy?
- Have I eliminated my bad habits & inculcate a new one?
- Have I managed to do mosque hopping like I'd always do every year?
Alhamdulillah, I managed to inculcate new habits and oh did I also get to see the minor differences in someone's life.
A person who doesnt always wear a jubah, likes to wear it now. A person who I've never heard before reading a quran, did I get to listen to it reciting melodiously. A person who I thought didnt know about the deen, actually becomes the one who knows better than me.
Yes. This Ramadhan has got to be an eye opener for me. Like typical human beings, I do make various assumptions on people (not to the extent of thinking negative of them though).
Allah is always here for us. He's all ears when his creations supplicate something. He's all eyes when his creations do actions that they thought nobody is watching them. He's always all forgiving when his creations constantly seek forgiveness even though they have done an ocean of sins in this world.
And at the end of the day, it boils down to us in realizing, repenting and be remorseful of our past bad actions than just ignorantly close one's eyes while continuously doing evil work.
Ramadhan, oh Ramadhan. You're sucha blessed month that Allah wants it to happen once a year and not running for a few months. It's because He wants to see who are the true believers that will seek forgiveness, constantly waking up for qiyam, reciting the quran religiously and giving the poor rate alms.
With that, I end my post with,
Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum.
May Allah accept good deeds from you and us ).” [Al Mahamiliyyat; hasan isnad; see Fath ul Bari 2:446]
